As United Methodists, we believe spiritual formation is a life-long process. Adult Bible Studies are offered seasonally throughout the year in coordination with special sermon series. Prayer, worship, scripture study, receiving Holy Communion, service, and spiritual direction are means of grace by which we open ourselves to the shaping work of the Holy Spirit. 

Bible 301

Sundays in August at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall

Bible 301 is an introduction to the New Testament and an intensive study on the four canonical gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each week includes lecture points, small group discussion questions, scripture reading, and closing prayer. All are welcome! 

The Gifts of Imperfection

This book is an invitation to join a wholehearted revolution. A small, quiet grassroots movement that starts with each of saying, “My story matters because I matter.” A movement where we can take to the streets with our messy, heartbreaking, grace-filled, and joyful lives. A movement fueled by the freedom that comes when we stop pretending everything is OK when it isn’t. A call that rises up from our bellies when we find the courage to celebrate those intensely joyful moments even though we’ve convinced ourselves that savoring happiness is inviting disaster. Revolution might sound a little dramatic, but in this world, choosing authenticity and worthiness is an absolute act of resistance.

Christian Contemporary Topics Small Group

Sundays at 10 a.m. in the Conference Room, Main Floor

An open forum and study group for adults to discuss the issues of today in a safe environment. This group is intentionally welcoming to those who are not sure if they believe in God or Christianity. 

Monthly Potluck Fellowship Lunch

Each month we host a potluck lunch in the Fellowship Hall immediately following Sunday worship on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Potlucks are a southern tradition of hospitality and sharing in which everyone is invited to bring a favorite dish (home-made or store-bought, it doesn’t matter!) to share. Food and beverages can be dropped off in the Fellowship Hall prior to 11:00 AM worship. Everyone is invited to come, whether you bring food or not. This is the perfect time to get to know the church and find ways to get involved.

Steady for Life

An international, award-winning program that helps adults of all ages grow in their physical abilities as well as strengthen their confidence in balance and fall prevention. Try a course for free. If you wish to sign up, the cost is $20/month for twice-weekly classes, and $10/month for once-a-week classes. 1:00-2:00 PM, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, Fellowship Hall, Basement floor. Open to all adults in the community!

Prayer Shawl Ministry

A group of interested knitters and crocheters meet to create blankets, shawls and wraps to offer as meaningful comfort to members of the community who are going through a major life transition or struggle. These shawls and blankets welcome new babies home from the hospital and surround the shoulders of cancer patients. 10:00 AM-noon, every other Monday morning, Conference room, Main floor. The group typically follows this ministry session with a lunch outing. All Welcome! If you don’t know how to knit or crochet, the Prayer Shawl Group would love to teach you!
